Textbooks that can be freely adopted as course texts, at no cost to the student. To be truly open, a textbook should specifically grant rights to its users that are less restrictive than standard copyright. The standard way to do this is through Creative Commons or some other licensing scheme that clearly lays out what users are allowed to do with the content.
