Duffle Bag Drive

by Roberto Arteaga on 2019-02-22T14:16:00-08:00 | 0 Comments

The PLU Student Veteran Association is collaborating with Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s (JBLM), Fisher House and Santa's Castle by having a Duffle Bag Drive.  The duffle bags will be in the library, just left of the Circulation Desk, through March, or until the bags are full.

The Fisher House mission is to provide military members and their families a comfortable environment, while they receive medical care at JBLM. This organization is similar to the Ronald McDonald house.  They are collecting non-perishable items, such as, canned good, energy bars, cereal, etc.

Santa's Castle is an organization on JBLM that has provided Christmas to the lower enlisted members having financial problems since 1994. They have a dedicated group of volunteers that work year around collecting bicycles, toys, books, and stocking stuffers.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of these companies on JBLM, and to get students vets involved here on campus.
