Resources for finding out basic information about a company: physical addresses, top executives, recent news and history, filings and legal cases. Don't forget to check the company's official website, too.

Statista is a platform specializing in market and consumer data that provides access to company information, industry reports, consumer reports, and general statistics. It curates and visualizes statistics, reports, and infographics, providing businesses with valuable insights into market trends and consumer behavior.
- Business Company Profiles (EBSCO) This link opens in a new window
Profiles of mostly larger, publicly traded companies, focusing on retail, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, financial services, energy and sustainability, and other sectors. Company histories, major products, competitors, and SWOT analyses.
- CrocTailLook up parents and subsidiaries. (Even if you are researching a subsidiary, SEC filings and other information are usually found under the parent.)
- State of Delaware Entity SearchAll U.S. companies have corporation filings in the states in which they are incorporated. You can sometimes get this information through the Secretary of State's office. This link is for corporate filings in Delaware since many companies incorporate there.

- Annual ReportsCollection of annual reports to shareholders. Usually only has current year. Corporate websites also often have these available.

- EDGAR Company SearchSearch for companies by name, location or ticker symbol. Retrieves forms filed with the Security and Exchange Commission, including 10-Ks.
